Paid Interpreters Needed for Parent/Teacher Conferences
Help us connect with our non-English speaking families by serving as an interpreter. If you are an adult 18 years or older who speaks English AND Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Tagalog/Filipino, Arabic, or another language, we would love to visit with you.
Contact Courtney Chalmers in the ESOL Department at cchalmers@bryantschools.org to learn more about our interpreting services. Conferences are coming up in February!

Two BHS students placed in the recent Congressional App Challenge sponsored by Congressman French Hill.
Freddy Giron won first place with his app called “Adult Basics” which shows young adults how to do things such as writing a check.
Summer Chirpich received an honorable mention with her app “Hungry". Summer's app allows a person to list what is in their refrigerator and then suggests a recipe based on those ingredients.
We are #BryantProud of these students who used their skills to develop and code these creative apps. Brenda Qualls is their Computer Science Teacher. #ComputerScience #AppChallenge

Bryant High School Student Senate has a long tradition of serving those in our school community. Each Christmas, they work with clubs, organizations, and teachers on campus to sponsor 50 children. Groups purchase a variety of toys and clothing for their sponsored child and turn them in to be collected by Salvation Army. District social worker Lisa McNeely coordinates with Salvation Army and arranges pick-up.
BHS senior Keylli Pablo Flores spent over $75 of her own funds to purchase the toys two children wished for this year. Her teacher, Mr. David Seal, sponsors children with his quantitative literacy classes and encourages his students to give back and help others for the holidays. What a way to spread joy in the holiday season! 🎄🎁🎅

There will be NO late start Wednesday at BHS this week (December 13) or next week (December 20). Classes will begin at 7:55 AM these days.
Late start Wednesdays will resume January 10.

What a treat for almost 700 BHS students to hear from Officer Tommy Norman as part of our Difference Makers speakers series! Thank you, Officer Norman, for taking time out of your day to visit BHS! Thank you, Mrs. Forga, for organizing this and thank you, Mrs. Elsea, for presenting us with this opportunity! #opp4success

Students in Mr. Manes' Holocaust and Human Behavior class and Mrs. Leaton's Student Senate class were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity today by participating in a virtual call with Holocaust survivor Pieter Kohnstam. Pieter is a childhood friend of Anne Frank and author of A Chance to Live. Thank you, Pieter, for sharing your story with our students! Thank you, Mr. Manes, for arranging this! #opp4success

We are #BryantProud of our Service Learning classes for creating holiday-themed placemats for the children at Arkansas Children's hospital! Thank you to Mrs. Vandeventer, Ms. Sahlmann, and Ms. Skiavo for coordinating this!

Christian Chandler, a senior at Bryant High School, marched with The Macy’s Great American Marching Band in the 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He submitted a video audition in February, along with hundreds of other high school students from across the U.S. A few weeks later he received an email notifying him that he had been selected to march with the band. The band was made up of 175 instrumentalists along with 40 color guard and dancers. Of the 175 instrumentalists, only 23 were selected to be on the drum line. Christian marched cymbals for the drum line.
The band was represented by all 50 states. Arkansas had a total of 6 students represented in the band! The band only practiced a few hours the days leading up to the parade to put their production together before the big day. During their down time, the band got to tour parts of New York City. We’re #BryantProud to have a student representing BHS and the Legacy band program on a national stage.

Bryant Public Schools’ new Strategic Plan 2.0 outlines the district’s focus areas over the next few years based on four priorities: Safety and Student Supports; Student Learning; Career Readiness; and Highly Qualified Personnel.
In the spring of 2023, all stakeholders were surveyed to help determine the goals and priorities for the Strategic Plan 2.0. It was important to the Bryant School Board and the district that areas identified by our stakeholders were a direct result of the data collected in the survey. The new plan includes the specific priorities indicated in the survey, provides actions to achieve the goals, determines methods to monitor and evaluate progress, and identifies desired outcomes. Specific data, including student achievement, will be included as part of the appendix (as it becomes available) to monitor progress of the priorities.
Visit bryantschools.org/strategicplan2.0 to view the video and read the new plan. We are excited about the district’s renewed focus which will lead us to LEARNING FOR ALL ... SUCCESS FOR ALL.

We are so very thankful for the outstanding community support provided by our local businesses and organizations. You helped make our recent Financial Reality Fair a success for our seniors!
