Paraprofessional educators, also known as paras, assist teachers in classrooms. They may work with students on enrichment activities, either in small groups or one-on-one. They help students complete assignments or practice reading. Paraprofessionals often work with students with special education needs and a variety of disabilities. They may also supervise students outside of classrooms and help teachers with clerical work.

On Tuesday afternoon (March 8) some of our older buses will be replaced with new buses. While your child's bus may have a new bus license number, ROUTE numbers will not change. The route number is the white number placed on the front and rear bumper of each bus. (The black number on the side, next to the door, is the license number, which will read 17-3-###. Do not reference this license number when looking for your route number.)
Please remind your student to look for the white route number on the front and rear bumper. Route numbers will remain the same. Our staff members will help your student locate his or her new bus for the ride home on Tuesday.
On Monday we’re taking off with National School Breakfast Week. Encourage your child to eat {FREE} breakfast at school. We’ll have surprise visits from Elsa and Anna, Captain America, Stitch, Pokemon … you never know who might drop by!
Elementary students will have the chance to win prizes with specially marked trays. The grade with the most breakfast participants for the week will receive an ice cream party (one grade per elementary school). So, don’t miss the fun—join us as we TAKE OFF with breakfast.
In two weeks, elementary schools will host Parent Teacher conferences. We’re happy to offer both in person and Zoom conferences. Parents will be contacted by your child’s teacher.
All students will be dismissed early on March 17. School is closed on Friday, March 18 for professional development, so Spring Break starts a day early for students. #BonusDay

Monday, February 28 kicks off our week with our CES PTO Pizza Night Fundraiser! From 4-8 pm, ANY order (dine in or carry out) from LARRY’S PIZZA will provide proceeds to our PTO. Some of the things PTO will help pay for with this fundraiser include events being planned for this spring such as a Family Glo Dance, and field trips for each student. We also plan to host another family night during our book fair, and other “after hour” events for parents to attend. We are very excited to be able to come together again!

March 9-10: Kindergarten Registration for 2022-23
Do you know any student who will be 5 years old on, or before August 1, 2022? It’s time to register for Kindergarten! Registration will be conducted ONLINE. Please help us spread the word. Having an early accurate count of students help us plan for the correct number of teachers and ensures students class placement at CES.
FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE:
We will begin BMI screenings the week of March 7, 2022. Height and weight measurements will be done on students in grades K, 2 and 4 as required by Arkansas law. If you DO NOT want your child to be measured, you must send a written note (with date and signature) to refuse the screening. No phone calls or email will be accepted. If I do not receive a written request before March 7, 2022, your child will be measured.

School will dismiss at 1:50 and Conferences will be held from 2:30-7:30 pm. You will have the option for Zoom OR face-to-face conferences. Teachers will be sending links next week to sign up for your conference time.
