We understand some of our parents are having issues with the Bryant Public Schools app and receiving notifications in the Rooms platform. Here are a few tips to help:
First, try deleting the Bryant Public Schools app and reinstalling it. The developers have pushed an update to the app stores which resolved the issue with the app crashing when tapping on Rooms.
Upon opening the Bryant Public School’s app for the first time (or after a reinstall), you should see a prompt asking whether you allow Notifications. It is important that you Allow Notifications so that you can be notified when teachers post announcements or send you messages. (Set notifications in Apple and Android.)
When you receive Notifications from Rooms, it will appear similar to how a text message or social media alert appears on your phone. Tapping on the Notification will take you to Rooms on the app. You will see a red badge (dot) on each Class where you have unread content.
Users should access Rooms daily to check for any additional information posted by teachers.
If you initially clicked "Don't Allow" on the app, or would like to confirm that Notifications are enabled, you'll need to open your phone's Settings:
Apple: Settings > Bryant Public Schools > Notifications > Allow Notifications
Android: Settings > Notifications > App Settings > Bryant Public Schools
- If you have taken the steps above and are still not receiving notifications, it may be necessary to restart your Apple phone. Delete and reinstall the Bryant Public Schools app. Be sure to ALLOW notifications. Shut down your phone, then turn it back on. (The process allows the Apple permissions to reset allowing notifications.)
We appreciate your patience as we all learn the new Rooms platform. Additional parent resources have been developed to help you navigate the app and set up notifications.
