Bryant Public Schools is excited to welcome our newest school board member, Nelly Valentin. Mrs. Valentin was appointed to the Board to fill the vacant Zone 3, formerly held by Sandra Porter.
Eight years ago, Mrs. Valentin moved with her family to Saline County from Puerto Rico. Husband Angel Luis Sanchez, and three children, Wilnelly, Angelly, and Angel Edgardo, make up her immediate family. She has worked in the district as both a secretary and academic progress monitor, and as an interpreter/translator for parent teacher conferences. Mrs. Valentin has served as an active parent volunteer and supporter while her children competed in athletics. “Now that my children are grownups and out of the nest, I still want to help and give back to school and the community that raised my kids,” she said.
Currently a bilingual parent educator at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Mrs. Valentin also brings experience in real estate, mortgage and banking. She said, “I’d like to focus on making a difference for all the Hispanic families in the district who struggle with the cultural changes and language barriers.”
Thank you, Mrs. Valentin, for your willingness to serve our students, families, staff and community.
