Bryant Junior High Robotics is set to host a regional VEX Robotics Tournament Saturday, February 17. Sixty robotics teams (grades 6-12) from around the state will compete for a spot in the VEX State Championship.
The challenge, called “VEX Over Under,” requires teams to use VEX Robotics equipment to create robots. The robots will be shooting 6-inch “triballs” across a 12-foot field in order to score a goal. Then they will traverse the field by either going under a 12-inch bar or by going over a 3-inch barrier (hence, VEX Over Under). The team’s two robots must work together to earn the highest score.
During this event, we will get a closer look at students’ ingenuity and their understanding of STEM concepts. They will demonstrate team-building, good communication skills, and problem-solving techniques.
The competition is free to watch and open to the public. We hope you’ll come out and support your BJHS Robotics team as they compete.
