Joined by education and industry leaders from 22 states, including the director of the National Center for Computer Science Education, Gov. Asa Hutchinson kicked off National Computer Science Week.
The event included panels with state policy makers in education, national leaders in different computer science initiatives and student panels. Bryant High School senior Lamia Crutchfield joined the Governor as part of the student panel. Lamia, who has a full ride to study Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis, is now being asked to share her #SuccessStory with other schools. Lamia’s CS instructor is Brenda Qualls.
Computer Science Education Week runs through December 12.
