Our bus drivers are safety professionals! Drivers must complete a pre-trip inspection before each route. Each of our buses is equipped with a Leave No Student Behind Alarm System, which ensures each driver walks to the back of the bus post-trip checking seats to be sure no child is left on the bus. After the inspection, the alarm is shut down, which allows the driver to remove the key from the ignition. #BusSafety

The Bryant School Board prioritizes allocating the resources for the safety of students and staff. In addition to adding new cameras, older video cameras throughout the district are being replaced with newer models utilizing up-to-date technology. The new cameras will provide a clearer and broader view of our facilities allowing us to monitor and identify any potential dangers or incidents that may occur. #SafeSchoolsWeek

October is #NationalPrincipalsMonth. All month long, we’re celebrating our amazing principals at each of our schools. Tami K. Edwards has been the learning leader at Collegeville Elementary for four years. She loves being a principal because she loves kids. “My favorite thing about being a principal is sharing my passion for students and helping them see education as their ticket to a better life. I also enjoy supporting teachers so they can be equipped to help students be successful,” says Mrs. Edwards. FUN FACT:
 Mrs. Edwards loves to dance! Until she moved to Bryant, she enjoyed being a certified Jazzercise instructor for almost 10 years.

FOOD BOX DISTRIBUTION MOVED TO THURSDAY Bryant Public Schools will host a food distribution on Thursday, October 21, 4:00-5:00pm, behind Bryant Elementary. Families must have a student currently approved for free or reduced meals in the Bryant School District to qualify to receive food boxes. So our team can prepare boxes in advance, please register at https://bit.ly/FoodBoxRegistration. Items included in the food boxes are listed on the registration form. Advance registration will help shorten wait times for food distribution. For more information, call 501-847-5632.

October 18-22 is Digital Citizenship Week, a time to help students reflect on how their digital lives impact their social and emotional well-being. Check out these great resources at commonsense.org (subject matter available by grade).

ALL students will be dismissed early on Thursday, October 21. Elementary schools will hold virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences from 2:00-7:30pm. School will be closed for students on Friday, October 22 while teachers and staff members attend Professional Development.

AMERICA'S SAFE SCHOOLS WEEK Safety is a priority at Bryant Public Schools. Thanks to our partnership with the City of Bryant, eight School Resource Officers are part of our security team. Over the last few years, the Bryant School Board has allocated resources to ensure there is an armed presence on every school campus by adding nine Commissioned School Security Officers. #SafeHornets

He loves building relationships with his students, their families, and the Salem Tigers faculty/staff. He says, “Relationships are the most important part of my job.” FUN FACT: Mr. Sims has 2 goats (Goose & Maverick), 20 chickens (he can't name them all), a turkey (Tom), and a duck named Bob. The BHS Sophomore football game (Bryant v. El Dorado @ Hornet Stadium) scheduled for Mon, Oct 18 has been CANCELLED.  The JV football game on the same night will continue as scheduled at Benton.

For her, it’s all about the students. She says, “As a principal, I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 500-600 students each year. The fact that every day I get to do what I love and to help shape the lives of our future leaders is an incredible feeling. There's nothing as great as seeing that you have made a difference in a child's life!” FUN FACT: Ms. Lewis loves to travel and experience different cultures. Each summer, she chooses a new destination. Some of her favorite adventures include exploring the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, hiking in the Rain Forests of Hawaii, and kayaking the Mangroves in the Cayman Islands. Her bucket list travel adventure is to visit Greece and Italy.  Thank you, Ms. Lewis for creating opportunities for success at Parkway Elementary! #BryantProud #ThankAPrincipal

Bryant High School Homecoming 2021 will be celebrated on Friday, October 15 at Hornet Stadium. Gates open at 5pm. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE GATE. All tickets must be purchased online at bryantschools.org/tickets. Festivities will begin at 6:25pm, followed by the crowning of the 2021 Homecoming Queen. At 7pm, the Hornets take the field against LR Southwest Gryphons in 7A-Central High School Football.

Bryant High School Beta Club members volunteered at Arkansas Foodbank last weekend sorting donated non-perishable items into categorical boxes and helping organize the warehouse so that shipments could be made to local food banks. #BryantProud #LeadByServing #Hornets
