Dr. Laura Fee

After serving as a district math specialist, Laura Fee missed the direct connection with students she had as a teacher. This led her to pursue a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and accept a role as Assistant Principal when BJHS opened five years ago. “I’ve been incredibly blessed to serve on the Junior High’s administrative team. I’ve seen the impact of a clear vision and commitment to student success, which prepared me for the role of principal,” she shared.

As BJHS’s new principal, Dr. Fee has a passion for working with 8th and 9th graders. “It’s vital to help students build good study habits, perseverance, and a commitment to their success. At the Junior High, our vision is for all Hornets to learn at high levels and reach their greatest potential. This can’t happen without the dedication of our teachers and staff. BJHS’s faculty is among the most committed and hardworking I’ve ever known, and I believe we will achieve our vision together,” she added.

BJHS has always focused on providing the support students need to succeed. The biggest challenges for 8th and 9th graders include transitioning to high school, managing increased academic demands, and navigating social and emotional changes. To address these, Dr. Fee plans to implement strong support systems, including transition programs, tutoring, academic support, and comprehensive counseling services. She also aims to foster a positive and inclusive school culture, ensuring students feel supported and connected.

One of the school's primary goals over the past five years has been to ensure every student leaves Bryant Junior High “on-time” to graduate. Thanks to the staff’s dedication, Bryant High School has recently seen some of its highest graduation rates. The “on-time” credit goal remains a priority, supported by academic advising, personalized support plans, and regular progress monitoring. Nearly every program at BJHS is designed to help students earn their credits, resulting in significant success.

In just a few months, Dr. Fee has proven to be a strong advocate for students and staff. Her leadership will continue to guide BJHS forward, ensuring academic success for the district’s 8th and 9th graders.
