At the 2024 School-Based Health Center Fall Training and Conference, Brittany Rothwell, coordinator of Bryant’s Hornet Health Clinic, received two prestigious awards: the “Badge of Courage” and the G.R.I.T. Award.
Presented by the Arkansas School-Based Health Center organization, the 2024 Badge of Courage award recognizes Mrs. Rothwell for her leadership in managing a significant transition of providers and location for the district’s school-based health center. While overseeing these changes, she also worked toward becoming a licensed professional counselor, furthering her commitment to expanding access to quality mental health services in Arkansas.
Additionally, the National School-Based Health Alliance honored Mrs. Rothwell with the inaugural G.R.I.T. Award. This award celebrates individuals at the state level who demonstrate genuine (G),resilient (R), innovative (I), and tenacious (T) qualities in advancing school-based health care. Mrs. Rothwell was one of just four recipients in Arkansas to receive this recognition.
Michele Lewis, Director of Federal Programs and Student Services, praised Rothwell’s dedication saying, “Brittany remains a champion of school-based health centers, and we are proud to have her leading our district’s clinic.”
