As we recognize World Mental Health Day on October 10th, the Bryant School District is committed to raising awareness about the importance of mental health and promoting the well-being of our students, staff, and families.
Our district is proud to be a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Showcase District, with almost all of our schools having achieved Showcase status. This recognition highlights our dedication to creating safe, supportive, and connected environments where students can thrive emotionally and academically. Through Capturing Kids’ Hearts, we teach our students essential social-emotional skills that help them build positive relationships, manage their emotions, and approach challenges with confidence.
In addition to our SEL programs, we offer several targeted interventions for students who need more specialized support. These programs are designed to ensure that every child has access to the tools they need to grow and succeed, no matter their unique challenges. Whether through individual counseling, group sessions, or our School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) services, we strive to provide personalized care for those who need it most.
We are also excited to announce that the district is in the process of partnering with the Cook Center for Human Connection to offer even more comprehensive mental health resources to parents through ParentGuidance.org. Be on the lookout for more information about this exciting new resource coming soon!
In the meantime, here are some ways you can support your child's mental health:
Have open conversations: Encourage your child to express their feelings and thoughts. A listening ear can make a significant difference.
Promote a balanced lifestyle: Make sure your child is getting enough rest, staying active, and taking time to relax.
Utilize our resources: Our school counselors are here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you feel your child could benefit from extra support. Also, make sure you visit our Mental Health Hub.
At Bryant School District, we believe that mental health is a key component of overall success. By working together, we can create a culture of care and kindness, where students feel safe and empowered to achieve their best.
Join us in celebrating World Mental Health Day by spreading kindness, fostering empathy, and supporting one another. Together, we can continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our children.
