Board Members Recognized for Service

During the month of January, Bryant Public Schools join school districts throughout the state to honor our local education leaders during Arkansas School Board Appreciation Month.

Bryant’s seven school board members are volunteer leaders, chosen through election. They oversee a multimillion-dollar budget that funds educational programs for over 9,600 students in twelve schools. Their personnel decisions affect more than 1,200 teachers, administrators and support workers.

These volunteers are also responsible for formulating school district policy, approving curriculum, maintaining school facilities, and adhering to state and federal education law. Legal concerns and the complexities of school finance, including budgeting and taxation, require them to spend many hours in board training programs and personal study to enhance their understanding of these and other issues.

Our deepest appreciation is extended to Patrice Muldrow (President), Nelly Valentin (Vice President), Dr. Scott Walsh (Secretary), Ben Lewellen, Kim Billingsley, Dr. Tyler Nelson and Craig Leone whose commitment and civic responsibility make them dedicated public servants for Bryant Schools and our community.
