Expanding the Bryant High School Campus

We are thrilled to announce the next phase of construction at Bryant High School! Starting in March 2025, work will begin on 65,558 square feet of new additions, designed to enhance learning and safety on the district's largest campus. The expansion will include:

  • State-of-the-art science classrooms and laboratories

  • Special education and general education classrooms

  • A large storm shelter capable of accommodating all occupants of the new building

The new construction will connect to Building 10, finishing the south wing of the campus. Completion is expected by October 2026, after which Buildings 3, 17, and 18 will be removed. The demolition of these buildings, which are outliers at the north and south ends of the campus, will shrink the campus and allow for the completion of the fencing project.

The project has been in the works for several years. In 2020, the Arkansas Facilities Division approved the expansion and committed funding for part of the cost. However, due to challenges such as COVID-related supply chain disruptions, rising interest rates, and new storm shelter regulations, the district requested an extension. During that time, we remained committed to saving and preparing for this essential upgrade.

We are now ready to move forward with this crucial step toward providing more space and a better learning environment for students. The district has contracted Baldwin & Shell for the project at a cost of $23,741,237 (excluding architectural fees, furniture, and equipment).

Project Funding:

  • State Participation: $3,388,193

  • Second Lien Bonds: $10,000,000

  • Building Fund Savings: $10,353,044

This expansion is more than just additional spaceβ€”it’s an investment in the future of Bryant High School, ensuring a better learning environment for generations to come. Bryant Public Schools is so thankful to our community for the support it receives to see these and other facility projects to completion.
