School Bus Safety and Accident Procedures
At Bryant Public Schools, student safety is our top priority. School buses remain the safest way for children to travel, and we are committed to maintaining high safety standards every day. In the rare event of a bus accident, we want parents to know what to expect.
If a bus is involved in an accident, no matter how minor, 911 will be contacted immediately. As soon as possible after we receive the information, the District will notify parents of students whose campuses are affected by email, text and Bryant Public Schools app. To ensure you receive these notifications, please make sure your contact information remains current. If you need to update your phone number or email, contact your childβs school as soon as possible.
When emergency medical personnel arrive at the scene, they assess all students on board. If a student needs medical attention, the District will contact their parent or guardian directly. If a student is assessed and shows no signs of injury, they may continue on the same bus or be placed on another bus to continue to school or home, depending on the time of day.
In the event of a bus accident, we ask that parents do not call the school or attempt to pick up their child at the accident scene. This allows our staff and emergency responders to focus on student safety. If a parent arrives at the scene, they will be directed to a designated area. Students will only be released to a parent or guardian with proper identification.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep you informed as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Transportation Office at 501-653-5150.
