Bryant School District Hosts Second Annual Healthy Hornets Fair

Bryant School District recently hosted its second annual Healthy Hornets Fair, an event dedicated to promoting wellness and self-care among its employees. Recognizing that educators and school staff often prioritize others’ needs over their own, the fair provided an opportunity for employees to focus on their well-being. The event featured local businesses and organizations offering resources and services to help staff manage stress, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and find new ways to practice self-care.

The BOLD idea for the fair came from Bryant counselor Ali Sage, who wanted to create a space where staff could focus on their own health and well-being. “I’ve had this vision since I became a counselor a few years ago,” Sage said. “I wanted a way that staff could take care of themselves and have access to resources that support their well-being. Because we tend to take care of other people, we don’t always take care of ourselves.” She BRAVELY launched the first Healthy Hornets Fair last year, and the positive response from staff encouraged her to make it an annual BRYANT event. This year, the event expanded with additional vendors and services from the local community.

Participants had the opportunity to connect with organizations from Saline County that provide health and wellness services. From mental health resources to fitness and nutrition support, the fair offered a variety of options to help employees take charge of their well-being. “I got to visit with some of the people in our community that are trying to serve what we do here at Bryant,” BHS Teacher Jeremy Clay said. “I’m excited about some of the information that I got.” Attendees expressed enthusiasm for the event, appreciating the chance to learn about available resources while engaging with colleagues in a supportive environment.

The Healthy Hornets Fair is set to continue for Bryant School District employees—reinforcing the district’s commitment to staff wellness. Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Bryant!
