Meet Your Counselors

Alyssa Wildschuetz, Counselor

Alyssa Wildschuetz

(A-D)

My name is Alyssa Wildschuetz (pronounced "Wild Shoots"), and I'm one of the counselors at Bryant Junior High School.

I'm married to my college sweetheart, Aaron, and we have two kids, Mason and Sutton. When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending my time with my family and friends, reading, being outside, playing tennis, and traveling.

This is my 8th year at Bryant as a school counselor, and my 5th year as a BJHS counselor. I love working with 8th and 9th grade students because they keep me on my toes. Everyday is different and that makes this job fun and interesting.

I have been in education since 2006 and started my career at Bryant in 2015. I've been working at the Jr. High since its inception.

I am passionate about school counseling and I love helping students and families navigate the challenges of Junior High!

I love spending time with my daughter, friends and family. Some of my favorite things to do include reading, watching movies (comedies with Ben Stiller are my fave), playing board games, and good conversation.

Amanda Rhodes, Counselor

Amanda Rhodes

(Le-Ri)

Hello there! I’m Amanda Rhodes and it is a privilege to be part of the Hornet family as a School Counselor here at BJHS! After six fulfilling years of teaching, I discovered my passion for inspiring students to build confidence and resilience as they navigate both academic and social experiences.

It brings me joy to cultivate a positive school community and work closely with families to ensure every student receives the support and encouragement they need to flourish.

Beyond the school environment, you can find me exploring the outdoors, biking, reading, or immersed in a good historical drama. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two wonderful children.

A quote I live by is:
“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”

Traci Long, Counselor

Traci Long

(Ro-Z)

I began my career in education as a math teacher and math specialist. While working with students to solve math problems, I found myself helping them solve other problems too. My passion to help students led me to the field of school counseling. I have been working at Bryant Junior High since it opened and became a school counselor here in 2022.

I am married with two kids and two cats. I enjoy spending time with family, playing board games, coloring, and watching funny movies. The things that make me happiest are: sunshine, queso and laughter. Laughter is good medicine!

I believe that school counselors are in a unique position to help students be successful by connecting them with resources specific to each student.
