Thanks to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2256, Bryant Junior High received 200 classroom flags, as well as four large flags.
Outfitting over 110 new classrooms with a flag was a priority, so BJHS staff reached out to Representative Lanny Fite, who then contacted the VFW post. The flags were initially purchased to place on the graves of veterans on Memorial Day. The unused flags from the holiday were donated to the new school for classroom use.
Principal Jason Hay commended the local post, saying “The history of our nation will be reflected in each of our classrooms thanks to the generous donation of the VFW. We are proud to teach our eighth and ninth-graders about civic pride and duty from those who proudly served our country.
