Children need good nutrition all year long. When school is out during the summer months, many children no longer have access to even one nutritious meal each day. Summer Meal Programs help to fill the gap.
Research shows a lack of nutrition during
the summer months may set up a cycle for poor performance once school begins. We must do all we can to ensure that children get nutritious food during the summer months so that they are ready to learn during the school year.
Once again Bryant Schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch to any child 18 years and younger at four different locations as part of the Summer Meals program funded by the USDA. Children do not have to attend Bryant Schools to participate. No registration is required … just come hungry!

Have you heard of the “summer slide?” The summer slide is a decline in reading ability and other academic skills that can occur over the summer months when school isn’t in session.
Here’s the secret to preventing the summer slide: Keep learning all summer long. We’ve provided resources with learning opportunities to keep kids’ academic skills sharp.
