Every year, each public school in Arkansas receives a Report Card. Just as each student’s report card shows his/her progress in specific subjects, the School Report Cards show how our schools are performing in different areas. This user-friendly information is available at bryantschools.org/parents/ade-report-cards.
The goal of the Report Card is to provide transparent and accessible information to parents, families, and the community all in one place. It provides a holistic way of looking at school performance, by providing information on student achievement, growth, graduation rate, teacher quality, school environment, and so much more. The Report Card has been improved by the addition of more subgroups of students, such as students in foster care and students with parents on active military duty, to ensure that every student is considered in school planning.
Much of the information on the Report Cards is reflected in the school letter grades assigned last fall. Bryant Schools is proud to report that all eleven of our schools received either an “A” or “B” rating.
Parents, families, and the community are all valuable partners in the success of our students. As you read the School Report Cards, consider how our schools are doing in each indicator and get a sense of where our schools are strong and where our schools could engage in specific efforts to improve so that each child is succeeding at the highest level. We, along with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), have high expectations for “leading the nation in student-focused education,” and we look forward to working together toward that vision each day.
We applaud ADE’s efforts to report this extensive data, including the new focus on subgroups. We will continue to review the information and put measures in place to improve academics, discipline, and social emotional learning for all our students. Many of these actions are already being addressed in our School Improvement Plans.
