National School Counseling Week is February 4–8. The week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the unique contribution of school counselors and the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve academic and personal success.
School counselors are actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents. Counselors help parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; focus on positive ways to enhance students’ social and emotional learning, educational and career development; and help students realize their potential while setting healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations for themselves.
Professional school counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in guidance and counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of Bryant Public Schools.
Bottom line: school counselors are helping our students win. Join us in celebrating them!
