The Bryant School Board recognized Food Service Director Lisa Stogsdill for coordinating the Summer Food Program. Mrs. Stogsdill secured grants from the Arkansas Department of Human Services to provide meals to children 18 and younger at three different sites. Many children who depend on school meals often go hungry in the summer months without community organizations to fill the gap.
The Boys and Girls Club of Bryant also expressed appreciation for Mrs. Stogsdill by presenting her with a signed and framed photo. Almost 23,000 total meals were served. Special thanks go to Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for hosting the Boys and Girls Club of Shannon Hills and providing one of the three food sites.
- Alexander Community Center, a new site for the summer food program, served 308 breakfast and 652 lunch meals.
- Boys and Girls Club of Bryant feed children 5,024breakfast and 10,627 lunches.
- Boys and Girls Club of Shannon Hills served 1,754 breakfast and 4,574 lunch meals.
