ATLAS for Parents

What is ATLAS?

The Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS) is the state’s required assessment program. Designed by Arkansas, ATLAS aligns with state learning standards and provides schools with valuable data to support high levels of student learning.

What assessments will my child take?

Students in grades 3-10, as well as those taking Algebra, Geometry, and/or Biology, will complete a state summative assessment in the spring. These assessments determine a student's proficiency level and guide decisions about curriculum, instruction, and necessary interventions across schools and districts.

In the previous spring (2024), grades 3-10, Algebra, Biology, and/or Geometry students completed end-of-year summative assessments. Grades 3-8 were tested in English Language Arts, Science, and Math. Grade 10 students took an assessment in English Language Arts. Those enrolled in Algebra, Geometry, or Biology took an End of Course Exam (EOC) for their respective subject(s).

At the beginning of the school year, students in grades K-2 complete ATLAS screeners for Literacy and Math, while 3rd-grade students take a Literacy screener. These screeners help identify students who may be at risk in foundational reading and math skills so that early interventions can be provided.

How do I see my child's scores?

Parents and guardians will receive an email or communication with instructions on accessing their child's scores using a Family Access Code. This portal provides access to scores for state summatives, screeners, interims, and more.
