The 2018 Class 7A State football champion Bryant Hornets lined up 11 seniors on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 6, to ink offers to play at the next level and head coach Buck James mentioned there would’ve been more had they chosen to play in college.
It was a bonanza for the program which, according to James, welcomed representatives from 50 colleges across the country, from Virginia to California, to the fieldhouse during recruiting season. Continue
Latavion Scott, the all-time leading rusher for the Bryant Hornets and State championship MVP, and Blaise Smith, who helped plow the way for Scott at tackle, have been selected to play on the East squad at the 2019 Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star game this year.
In addition, Bryant’s Llyz Cortes and Nyla Gabe will perform on the East All-Star dance squad while Cavion Crosby will represent the school on the East All-Star cheer team.
The annual AHSCA All-Star week is during June each year. Dates and time have not been released.
Conway’s Keith Fimple will serve as head coach for the East football team. Dana Gibson of Nettleton will coach the East dance squad while Tori Beach of Nettleton will coach the East cheer squad.

The Bryant Hornets football team was honored by MaxPreps and sponsor Army National Guard as part of the Tour of Champions on Friday night. The Hornets, after capturing the school’s first State football title, was ranked among the top 50 high school teams in the country. Continue
LITTLE ROCK — At the Little Rock Touchdown Club’s annual awards banquet at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock Thursday night, Bryant senior Latavion Scott was presented the first Darren McFadden Award as the top running back in Arkansas for the 2018 season. Continue
BENTON — The Saline County Quorum Court hosted the Class 7A State champion Bryant Hornets football team on Monday night at issued a proclamation in their honor.
Justice of the Peace Everette Hatcher said, “This championship was anticipated and we are grateful for everyone associated with this Hornet team who made it happen.”
The Class 7A State champion Bryant Hornets were further honored individually this week with the announcement that 33 players have earned post-season honors including All-State selections tackles Blaise Smith and Logan Burton, defensive end Nate Wallace, defensive tackle Kajuan Robinson and running back Latavion Scott.
