Due to growing concerns over COVID-19, and after the announcement from the Governor and the Arkansas Department of Education, the Arkansas Activities Association will implement a dead period for all member schools starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. During this time, coaches (licensed teacher coaches and registered volunteers) shall be prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student athletes whether it be practice, training, weight lifting, tryouts, competition, or travel. Further, school athletic facilities will be closed during this period. On Monday, March 30, the AAA will reassess the COVID-19 situation and announce further plans.

Administration recently received direction from the Arkansas Department of Health and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to close school beginning Friday, March 13. School will remain closed the week of March 16-20 and through Spring Break. Bryant Schools will reopen on Monday, March 30. All sporting events and school activities have been canceled during this time.
These days will be classified as Alternative Method Instruction (AMI) days. Secondary students will receive assignments through Google Classroom. Elementary students will need to complete packets that are being sent home today.
Please understand that is all the information we have received. As stated earlier, the Arkansas Department of Health is the lead organization and Bryant Public Schools is taking direction from them in regards to this matter.
BEEBE — The Bryant Lady Hornets rallied from a 6-0 deficit but couldn’t get all the way back as the Beebe Lady Badgers held on for a 7-6 win on Tuesday night.
Regan Dillon and Alissa Suarez each had three hits for the Lady Hornets. Maddie Thompson, Abby Gentry and Caitlin LaCerra added two each. Continued

BENTON — Abbey Inman, off a touch by her twin sister Ashton, powered the ball past the Benton goalkeeper with 27:47 left to play and the Bryant Lady Hornets made that hold up for a 2-1 win over the rival Lady Panthers on Tuesday night. The goal came off an indirect free kick. Continued
Bryant Lady Hornets assistant soccer coach Jessica Brown was kind of kidding — only kind of — when she started speaking about senior Lauren Heath on Tuesday.
“I’ve been coaching Lauren since her sophomore year and I can honestly say she’s the only kid that terrifies me,” Brown stated with a smile. “She’s the only kid that also I close my eyes with whenever she’s sprinting towards somebody because I’m nervous for the other person.” Continued

FORT SMITH — At the annual Fort Smith Northside tournament this weekend, the Bryant Hornets went 1-1-1 including a 4-0 win over the Fort Smith Southside Mavericks. Continued
After a heartbreaking loss against the Rogers Lady Mounties on Saturday, the Bryant Lady Hornets bounced back with a 12-6 victory over the Bentonville West Lady Wolverines to conclude their weekend visit to northwest Arkansas.
Bryant went 1-2 on the trip. The Lady Hornets are 2-2 overall going into Tuesday’s trip to Beebe. Continue
WAXAHACHIE, Texas — The Bryant Hornets wrapped up their trip to Texas on Saturday with a 3-2 win over the Midlothian Panthers behind the pitching of right-hander Will Hathcote, who took a no-hitter into the sixth.
Bryant completes the Waxahachie Classic with a 3-2 record and will take a 3-3 mark on the season to White Hall on Friday, March 13. Continued
WAXAHACHIE, Texas — In a pair of tight games, the Bryant Hornets split their second set of two contests at the annual Waxahachie Classic on Friday. In the opener, lefty Tyler Bates shut out the Duncanville, Texas, Panthers on one hit over six innings in a 2-1 win. Later, the Hornets and the Mansfield, Texas, Legacy Broncos battled to a 2-2 tie through four innings before a run in the bottom of the fifth provided the winning edge for the Broncos. Continued
