Dr. Tom W. Kimbrell
Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Kimbrell is a recognized leader in education. Before becoming Bryant’s superintendent in 2014, he served almost five years as Commissioner of Education for the State of Arkansas. He led the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators from 2005 to 2009 and has served as superintendent of the North Little Rock and Paragould school districts.
Dr. Karen C. Walters
Deputy Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Walters most recent role was that of Assistant Commissioner at the Arkansas Department of Education. She is a former superintendent of the Hector and Evening Shade School Districts. Dr. Walters is a life-long educator with experience as a principal and classroom teacher.
Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs
Mr. Lasiter comes to us from seven years with Arkansas Department of Education, where he worked as head of the legal office. Jeremy previously served as an assistant attorney general. His military experience includes being a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech and a law degree from the UALR.
Director of Communications
Devin Sherrill has served as Director of Communications since 2012. Her experience with website development, graphic design and public relations was earned through 25 years of helping non-profits share their message with the public. She is the voice behind the parent messaging system and the District’s social media accounts.
Director of Instruction and Testing
As test coordinator, Ms. Kenny ensures compliance and success with all testing programs across the district. She is an elementary educator at heart, having served as principal at Armorel and Collegeville Elementary Schools. Ms. Kenny’s leadership experience gives her insight into helping build administration and academic programs in grades K-5.
Director of Administrative Services
Mrs. Kimbrell directs and coordinates administrative programs in the district such as student data management, federal programs/categorical funds and reporting compliance. She also works as the homeless student liaison. Prior to this role, she was Director of Federal Programs at Cabot Schools. She has experience as both a classroom teacher and assistant principal.
Director of Professional Development and Alternative Learning
Mrs. Curtis’ role is to ensure that Bryant educators are supported in their professional learning needs to deepen and strengthen teaching practices in the classroom. In addition, she provides leadership for the district’s Alternative Learning programs. Mrs. Curtis has almost twenty years of experience in education, including that of math specialist, ALE coordinator, and assistant principal.
Business Manager and CFO
Mrs. Drummond is a Certified Public Accountant with experience as a Legislative Auditor. She joined Bryant Schools in November 2013 after managing the business affairs of the El Dorado School District. She oversees the financial responsibilities of the District, including the budget, by working closely with the Superintendent and other administrators.
